4th Grade Constitution
We the people of the 2015-2016, Westerly Creek Elementary School 4th grade, in order to form a more perfect classroom, hereby establish this constitution to ensure safety and success of all students.
Article I. Be a CREEK Kid!
Section. 1. All students will strive to be CREEK Kids at all times.
Section. 2. Compassionate: Having or showing a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. Show others that you care!
Section. 3. Respect: a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability. Treat others, things, ideas, and animals the way that you would like to be treated!
Section. 4. Empathetic: the intellectual identification with of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another. Accept others and be nice!
Section. 5. Engaged: to occupy the attention or efforts. Stay focused, pay attention, participate, and do your best on your work! We will be confident and do our best. This means we will be proud of the work that we do!
Section. 6. Kindness: of a good or benevolent nature or disposition. Be nice, helpful, and include everyone! Don’t judge people.
Section 7. All students shall not bully! We will not bully others, even our friends! We will try to help students who are bullied. We will make it a point to include students who are easily left out. When we know somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult. Speak up!!!
Article. II. Be Responsible
Section. 1. All students will be responsible for our classroom and themselves in order to create a safe environment.
Section. 2. All students will clean up after themselves, and if something is out of place help out and put it away.
Section. 3. We will follow directions the first time and not complain or make excuses.
Section. 4. All students will take control and responsibility of their own actions.
Section 5. All students will complete all assignments when the assignment is supposed to be completed: class work and homework.
Section 6. All students will do their assigned job each week.
Section 7. All students will be ready and prepared to work.
Article III. Be a good listener!
Section.1. All Students will be good listeners.
Section. 2. We will listen without having side conversations or interruptions. One Microphone!
Section 3. We will look at the person speaking.
Section 4. We will listen and be able and willing to give feedback and ask questions to our classmates and teachers.
Article IV. Show integrity!
Section. 1. All students will be honest and fair at all times.
Section 2. All students will be trustworthy and not steal or take things that do not belong to them.
Section 3. All students will tell the truth even if lying is easier!
Section 4. All students will admit to their mistakes without blaming others and take responsibility for their actions.
Section 5. Show Gratitude!
Article V. Have FUN!
Section. 1. All students will Have FUN!!!!
Section. 2. We will have fun, because learning while having fun is so much better!
Section. 3. If I am in a bad mood or not happy, I will engage in class and try to make my day better!
Section 4. Learn as much as possible and stay focused so we will have more time for FUN.
Section 5. All students will be positive even if someone thinks they cannot do something. You can if you try!- Perseverance!!!
Section 6. Make new friends whenever possible!
Article VI. Believe in yourself!
Section 1. All students will believe in themselves!
Section 2. All students will understand that even though they may not be great at everything that they still are great learners and great 4th graders. Sometimes you have to work harder!
Section 3. All students will work together to create a great learning community with collaboration and confidence.
Section 4. All students will do their best and never give up. Always challenge yourself!
Section 5. If my name is on something, I will do my best so that I can be proud of my work!
Done in convention by the unanimous classes of Miss Grant, Mrs. Culver, Mrs. Whitbeck, and Mr. Rabinowitz of Westerly Creek Elementary School present this 28th day of August the year two thousand fifteen, hereby ratify this constitution and agree to try my best to be a successful 4th grader. I will be the best student that I can be, so that I can learn the necessary things to become a prosperous member of society!
